Privacy Policy

This is a first-draft policy for TowConnect's early website and is still to be reviewed. Last updated: October 2026.

TowConnect ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We aim to handle your information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect

We only collect the information you choose to give us through our forms:

• Requests for help: the service you need (towing, roadside assistance or vehicle storage), your vehicle's location, who the request is for (yourself, someone else or a business), what happened, your contact name, phone number, email (optional), timeframe (and preferred date and time if scheduled), vehicle type, registration (optional) and destination (optional).
• Partner registrations: your company name, contact name, phone, email, services provided, regions served, fleet or yard size, years operating, how you currently get jobs, and any questions or comments.

We don't ask for payment details, and we don't require you to create an account.

How we use it

• To pass your request to a participating provider that covers your area, so they can contact you about it.
• To contact towing, storage and roadside assistance providers who have registered interest in partnering with us.
• To reply to questions you send us.
• To understand demand and improve TowConnect.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for unrelated marketing.

Who we share it with

• Providers: if you request help, we share the details of your request with a participating provider so they can help you. That provider is an independent business, responsible for how it handles your information.
• Service providers: our forms are delivered to us by email using a third-party form service (Web3Forms), and this website is hosted by Cloudflare. These providers may process your information on our behalf, and may store it outside New Zealand.
• When required by law: we may disclose information if we're legally required to.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, and then delete it.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. To make a request, or if you have a privacy concern, email us at hello@towconnect.co.nz. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as TowConnect grows. The latest version will always be on this page.
